About Aback ZIP
Aback ZIP is a privacy-first, browser-native ZIP utility suite. Create, extract, split, merge, compress, and inspect ZIP archives without ever uploading a file.
Your files belong to you
Aback ZIP provides the tools, and your device performs the work. There is no backend, no upload pipeline, and no archive-processing API. The browser is the compute layer: parsing, compression, and extraction all happen locally in memory. That means your filenames, contents, and metadata never cross the network. The product is free, ad-supported, and requires no account.
Questions about Aback ZIP
How does Aback ZIP work?
When you select a file, it is read into your browser's memory and processed locally by a compact ZIP engine. The result is offered as a download. No bytes are transmitted.
Why is there no backend?
A local-only architecture is the strongest privacy guarantee we can make. If a file never leaves your device, it cannot be intercepted, logged, or misused.
Is Aback ZIP free?
Yes. All tools are free with no limits and no watermarks. The site is supported by advertising that never sees your files.
What browsers are supported?
Current versions of Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge, on desktop and mobile. Older browsers may lack the APIs required for local processing.
Can I use Aback ZIP offline?
Processing itself is fully local. Complete offline support requires caching all application assets and has not yet been certified, so we only claim local processing, not full offline operation.
